The Atlantic Regional office of Telefilm Canada, located in Halifax, services the film, television and new media industries in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The office has been operating since 1984 and has grown from one employee to nine people administering funds and programs for these industries, as well as supporting festivals and professional development opportunities in Atlantic Canada. Dealing with a rich mixture of English-language and Acadian cultures, the Atlantic office supports production in both English and French and encourages inter-provincial and international co-production.
