Guidelines for the Theatrical Documentary Pilot Program – English-language Component

ROGERS GROUP OF FUNDS HAS JOINED THE PARTNERSHIP

September 27, 2005 - As previously announced, the 2005-2006 guidelines and application form for the English-language component of the Theatrical Documentary Pilot Program are available on the Telefilm Canada Website. However, slight modifications have been made as Rogers Group of Funds recently committed to providing additional funds to the production component.

The English-language component of this one-year pilot initiative program has two streams: production and completion.

CBC Television, Rogers Group of Funds and Telefilm Canada have partnered to provide the production funds, which will allow for two feature-length documentary projects to be financed. These projects are intended for first-window Canadian theatrical releases, which will be promoted on CBC Television. Following the theatrical run, the successful projects will have a premiere broadcast on CBC Television.

Telefilm Canada will provide the completion funds. This completion stream is open to proposals from both emerging and established documentary filmmakers. Five to eight documentaries will be selected for completion financing.

Eligibility criteria, guidelines and application forms for the Theatrical Documentary Program (production and completion) are available on Telefilm Canada's Website at www.telefilm.ca/theatrical-documentary.

Guidelines for the production component are also available at www.cbc.ca/independentproducers
and www.rogers.com/english/aboutrogers/communitysupport/index.html

The deadline for submitting production proposals is November 1, 2005.

There is no deadline for the submission of completion proposals.

All submissions are to be made to Telefilm Canada.
