Telefilm Canada’s presence at international markets is yet another way for the Corporation to promote Canadian productions, in cooperation with private enterprise. In partnership with provincial agencies and federal organizations, the Corporation coordinates and administers the Canada Pavilion umbrella booth at the markets it considers most suitable for promoting Canadian works: MIPTV (International Television Programme Market), MIPCOM (International Market for Audiovisual Content) and Marché du film (which takes place during the Festival de Cannes). Telefilm Canada also coordinates a Canada Sales Desk at the EFM (European Film Market in Berlin). These markets are important for Canadian production as they stimulate the sale of Canadian works and facilitate pre-financing of production and co-production projects.
Telefilm Canada also supports new media markets by providing registration discounts to Canadian companies exhibiting at the Game Connection held in San Francisco (February) and Lyon (November).
