The Edinburgh International Film Festival is currently accepting entries for its 2010 edition.

Please note that all films must be submitted directly to the Festival.

Regular deadline : January 31, 2011

Late deadline, higher registration fee : February 14, 2011


Eligibility
  • All films must be UK premieres. Special interest is given to world or international premieres;
  • All submitted films must be completed after June 1, 2010;
  • Shorts films (less than 30 minutes) and feature-length films (over 30 minutes) are accepted;
  • Fiction, experimental, animation and feature documentary films are eligible to the competition;
  • Screening formats: 70mm, 35mm, 16 mm, Beta, Digibeta (PAL).

    The Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) has been in existence since 1947 and holds a particular interest in non-fiction filmmaking. The EIFF aims to stand internationally as a festival of discovery, a celebration of cinema, a centre of debate and a catalyst for new and innovative films. EIFF’s programme of films and events combines a commitment to audience edification with a strong ongoing stake in the development of UK and Scottish film industries.

    Among the sections of the festival open to international films are: Director’s Showcase, Document, Gala, Rosebud (first and second films) with a £5 000 award, Night Moves and Short Films with a £1 000 award. The festival also presents the Best Feature Documentary Award (£5 000) and the Projector.TV Best New International Feature Award (£5 000) for a world or international premiere.
