Zero is a concept that touches human consciousness in unexpected ways. From Varanasi, India – said to be the birthplace of zero – we go to Italy in the Middle Ages, where the much-feared number was introduced through trade with the Arabs. History. Philosophy. Imagination. The closer you look at zero, the more infinite the associations: a simple graphic symbol, an egg that signals creation, an eye on the universe.
