Matt Bissonnette was born and raised in Montreal, where he studied English and film at Concordia University. Following a career in the punk rock band sector, he left for Japan to pursue a bartender’s education. Returning to the West, he studied law at Queen’s University and was called to the Ontario Bar but retired two weeks later to write and work in movies.
