WHALE OF A TALE

Whale of a Tale is a quest to unravel the mystery behind the discovery of a whalebone in downtown Toronto. Moving from the depths of primordial oceans to the subterranean strata of a modern city, from the dusty world of academia to the folly of the six o'clock news, Whale of a Tale is a Rashomon-like tale of multiple obsessions that explores our need to be part of a larger continuum. Taking a self-consciously world-class city, a seemingly innocuous found object, and an eclectic mix of characters and agendas, the film explores human nature and our love for a tall tale.
