VUEguide is a handheld multimedia device that provides museum visitors with personalized, location-aware, rich media interpretation. Housed in a rugged aluminum case, the PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) operates on custom software developed by Ubiquity that enables context-sensitive information delivery. In the spring of 2005, the VUEguide was installed at Vancouver's Museum of Anthropology (MOA) -- the first permanent installation of its kind in Canada. The VUEguide at MOA features over an hour of narration, more than 50 videos, computer reconstructions of historic dwellings and artifacts, and rare archival footage courtesy of CBC Television.
