Katie Sampson, a 43-year-old mother of three, is diagnosed with breast cancer. Meanwhile, at the very hospital where she goes for treatment, a failing reality TV show is being shot. Quite by accident, Katie collides with the film crew and the show's struggling host, Dr. Miles Hart. She turns the tables on him and sets the audience on fire with her wit, candour, and charisma.
