TAKE (THE)

The Take is the first crossover film to emerge from the anti-globalization movement that exploded in Seattle, 1999 and has continued to draw hundreds of thousands into the streets ever since. This documentary follows Argentina's new movement of occupied businesses: groups of workers who are taking over their bankrupt workplaces and running them without bosses. Part vérité drama, part passionate political statement, the film is the first joint work from Avi Lewis and Naomi Klein, two of the best-known activist-journalists of their generation.
