In anticipation of the 2004 Congrès Mondial Acadien (World Acadian Congress), two artists of Acadian origin, Marcel Aymar and Anne-Marie White, set out to learn more about their home province, Nova Scotia, and particularly about the history of its Acadian families. Their aim was to help members of the Acadian diaspora learn more about their genealogy. Aboard a schooner, Aymar and White visited the towns and villages along the coast of Nova Scotia in order to better understand what guided and motivated their ancestors, who first settled these coastal areas.
