ST. LAURENT GOES TO WASHINGTON

St. Laurent Goes to Washington follows a delegation of Mechif from their village of St. Laurent on the shores of Lake Manitoba to the grand opening of the National Museum of the American Indian. The exhibit they have prepared for the museum includes a “Bombardier” – pronounced Bombadeer – a tank-like, heated snow vehicle used by the Mechif for ice fishing, set amidst the other trappings of the modern and traditional life of the Mechif.
