Simon and the Spirit Bear

Simon Jackson was only seven years old, a bear-obsessed kid in West Vancouver, when he first began fundraising to save bear habitats. A lemonade stand was the first step towards building the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition – an international lobby group that brought British Columbia lumber companies to their knees and forced the B.C. government to protect one of the world’s rarest bears, the magnificent all-white “Kermode” that roams the wild, wet Pacific Northwest coast of British Columbia.
