HornAfrik, the first independent TV and radio station in war-torn Mogadishu, Somalia, was set up by three brave Somali Canadians, whose vision is to forge a path to peace through freedom of expression, impartial news and debate. The station has been attacked by warlords who control this lawless city through their guns, and through the propaganda and hatred broadcast on their own radio stations. HornAfrik is a blueprint for the role of the media in conflict.
