Michael Parker

Michael Parker is a first-generation Irish-Canadian with an extensive background in production, writing and directing for film and television. In 1988, Michael and his wife, Shan Tam, formed Maple Ridge Films, a line-producing company catering to Asian producers. The company was involved in the production of six features, including the Jackie Chan action blockbuster Rumble in the Bronx. In 1992, Michael and Shan formed Holiday Pictures, an independent production company with a mandate to develop and produce original feature films and television series. In 1997 Michael directed the television comedy-drama Chief Plays Basketball, and in 2000 he executive-produced the TV documentary Made in China. Lunch With Charles marks Michael Parker’s feature-film directorial debut.
