Joel Rothman can't sleep. His insomnia affects every aspect of his life: his psychotherapy patients aren't making any progress, his daughter refuses to speak to him since his wife left them, and every time he gets behind the wheel of his car, his puts his life at risk. Just when things couldn't get any worse, Joel is assigned three patients who are suffering extreme symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. As he begins to treat them, and learn their secrets, he starts to unravel the mystery of his own life and discovers the key to getting through to his daughter.

Sean Garrity began his career as a filmmaker and musician in Winnipeg in 1997, creating award-winning music videos, documentaries and short films. His shorts include Middle, How Much for a Half Kilo? (2000), which won the best film award at the Calgary Independent Film Festival, and Buenos Aires Souvenir, which was in official competition at the 2002 Clermond-Ferrand Short Film Festival. Sean's first feature film, Inertia, received the best Canadian first feature award at the 2001 Toronto International Film Festival, as well as the best director award at the 2001 FilmCan Festival. Lucid is his second feature.
