Libérateur libéré

Canadian soldier Fortunat Haché was stationed in Holland during the Second World War. After Holland was liberated, he returned home – leaving behind Riek, a Dutch woman who was pregnant with his child. Fortunat disappeared completely from Riek’s life, keeping her pregnancy secret from those who knew him – until the day his daughter entered his life. In June 2001, Fortunat Haché returned to Holland to meet his daughter, try to set things right with Riek – and finally unburden himself of the secret he had carried for so long.
