Imprisoned in Our Hearts: The Relocation of Hebron

In 1959, Inuit from Northern Labrador were uprooted and relocated to various communities in the south. The relocation turned out to be a traumatic and disruptive experience for the Inuit and their descendents. The social and economic equilibrium that they had known in the past was shattered and was never recovered. The decision to relocate Hebron was to have consequences for Northern Inuit that continue to this day.
