FIDDLER'S MAP

Fiddler's Map is a one-hour documentary journey into what it means to be Métis in Canada today. Shown through the eyes and the life of Merelda Fiddler, Fiddler's Map examines the racism and resentment that forced many Métis families to give up their heritage and hide their Métis roots. The result is an overview of Métis life in Canada since the time of the fur trade, and a deep look at one woman's search to find her heritage, her family, and a place within Canada.
