EVERYTHING'S GONE GREEN

Everything’s Gone Green is Douglas Coupland’s first story written specifically for the screen. Ryan, a loveable 20-nothing, falls into a job as a reporter/photographer for Winners!, a crappy, local lottery magazine that’s given away at supermarkets. As things look dismal, he’s tempted into a money-laundering scheme that rewards him with material goods and the opportunity to live closer to the woman with whom he’s found a wonderful connection. As Coupland has done in the past with such novels as Generation X and All Families Are Psychotic, new questions are raised about the period in which we live. Is it possible to just drift into the new century? Is the middle-class facing extinction? When is “enough” enough? And, is there any hope that not everyone wants to be a millionaire?
