In 2000, LiveWires Design Ltd. released the computer game Missing for children aged 11 to 13. Missing is the story of 14-year-old Zack, who is lured from home by a predator he meets online. Based on an actual police case, the game invites children to play the role of an RCMP officer who must save Zack before he disappears. To date, almost 40,000 copies have been sold to schools worldwide. CyberCops is a two-game sequel to Missing, targeted at students 13 to 15 years of age. The Mirror Image game shows teenage girls how predators can track them through instant online messaging, and The Sting game shows teenage boys how predators can manipulate them through taunts and threats. The LiveWires Web site (www.livewwwires.com) offers a training package so teachers and police officers can learn to use the games in the classroom.
