COHEN’S WAR

This is the story of a man who works within one of the most powerful and secret institutions in Canada. He believes this institution is riddled with ignorance, and consequently its activities often lead to tragedy. He believes this so profoundly he has made it his life's work to fight back. As we meet refugee lawyer M. Lee Cohen, he is in the midst of representing two people. One is a young Serbian woman who has claimed sanctuary in a local church to avoid deportation to a desperate and lawless society. The second is fighting deportation to Russia, where he risks falling into the hands of the Russian Mafia. These cases are the vehicle to explore Cohen and his nemesis, the Department of Canadian Immigration and Refugee Claims.
