JUNO BEACH CENTRE

The bilingual, multimedia and immersive Juno Beach virtual museum Web site (www.junobeachcentre.com) tells the story of Canada’s participation in World War II, with a particular focus on Juno Beach – the landing site assigned to Canadian forces on D-Day, June 6, 1944. The actual Juno Beach Education Centre is located on Juno Beach at Courseulles-sur-Mer, on the coast of Normandy in France. The Web site looks at Canada in 1939, and examines the events that led to war, the arms and weapons used, the services on land, in the air and at sea. Flash technology, interactive maps and illustrations, audio, video, text and images combine to tell the story and offer users a rich learning experience.
