CELESTA FOUND

Celesta Found was inspired by the accidental discovery of a cardboard box in an abandoned log cabin in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. The box contained paper, scraps, grocery lists, funeral notices, tax receipts, and seven diaries – all dating from the years between 1895 and 1916. Through these artifacts, the film draws us into the life of a woman who lived and died in an earlier century, a woman who, day by day, wrote herself into consciousness – and into the future.
