Native America singer/songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie has spent her life making connections between mainstream and aboriginal cultures, and between musical disciplines, political ideologies and the old and new technologies. Throughout the film, the viewer witnesses Buffy’s transformation from a young folksinger, born on the “wrong side of the blanket” in rural Saskatchewan and raised in working-class America, to an international music icon, digital artist and respected spokesperson for Native rights.
