BUDGE: THE ONE TRUE HAPPINESS OF F. R. "BUDGE" CRAWLEY

Through original and archival footage, film clips, photographs, interviews with friends and foes, this documentary probes the singular career of Canadien filmmaker Budge Crawley (1911-1987), best known for his Academy Award-winning documentary feature The Man Who Skied Down Everest. From his early short films to his ultimately unsuccessful attempts to create a private, self-sustaining feature-film industry in Canada, the program explores the life of a man who initiated many Canadian film-industry firsts.
