BOOTLEGGERS D'ATLANTIQUE

In 1920, the United States attempted to ban liquor by launching Prohibition. Canada, however, continued to tolerate the consumption of alcohol. Under these ideal conditions, a major network devoted to the smuggling of contraband liquor quickly sprang up. Acadian communities have a wealth of stories to tell about the bootlegging operations, and this program recounts a few of them - with the help of two rather special bootleggers. This humorous docu-drama is based on real-life events.
