This environmental documentary for materialists with a conscience looks at the battle between conservationists and developers over Burns Bog, a section of muddy land in the middle of Vancouver’s Lower Mainland. It tells the story of an urban “Everywoman” – first-time filmmaker Mary Bissell – who investigates both sides of the “bog war.” Mary takes viewers on a botanical mystery tour to a land of carnivorous plants, mysterious creatures and quirky characters who feel passionately about the future of Burns Bog.
