Sophie-Carmen (Sonia) Eckhardt-Gramatté - a great modern classical composer of the 20th century - shared her passion with two men. An artistic rebel who defied all barriers, her creativity was nourished first by German Expressionist artist Walter Gramatté, and later by art historian and writer Ferdinand Eckhardt. In an astonishing career that took her from Paris, Berlin and Vienna to Western Canada, Sonia and her two great loves remained inseparable, in death as much as in life.
