A Toronto high school teacher takes a disturbing news story from 1986 about an attempted act of terrorism and uses it as the basis for a French translation exercise. Simon, a smart 16-year-old, infuses himself into the translation, telling the story as though it were his own because, in some ways, it is. Encouraged by his teacher, he concocts a project around his version of the event and, using the Web, sends it out into the world. The reaction is swift and strong. Cyberspace is a forum for victims. But is it a place for redemption?
