1604

A docudrama based on the experiences of real-life individuals, 1604 tells the story of the first attempts by the French to settle North America, first on Saint Croix Island and then at Port-Royal. Told through the eyes of Guillaume, a young French settler, and Nagoeg, a beautiful Native girl who becomes his companion, 1604 introduces such historical figures as De Monts, Champlain, Poutrincourt and Lescarbot and captures the sweeping emotion, excitement and tragedy that marked this thrilling moment in history.
